Reading

Read tuhat posts offline

tuhat posts are plain web pages and every writer has RSS. That makes them friendly to read-it-later tools, RSS readers, and e-readers. Individual posts can also be downloaded as EPUB files from the post page.

Direct EPUB download

Open a post and use Download EPUB near the bottom of the page. The file is built for e-readers and includes tuhat-hosted images when possible. Sideload it with Calibre, USB transfer, or your reader's document-send tool.

Kobo: the easiest path

  1. 1 Open the tuhat post in your browser.
  2. 2 Save the page to Instapaper.
  3. 3 On a supported Kobo, sign in to Instapaper and sync.
  4. 4 Read the saved article from the Kobo library.

Kobo: reliable USB sideloading

  1. 1 Save the post as HTML or PDF from your browser.
  2. 2 For a better e-reader layout, add the file to Calibre and convert it to EPUB.
  3. 3 Connect the Kobo with USB and choose Connect on the device.
  4. 4 Use Calibre's Send to device action, or copy the EPUB/PDF to the Kobo storage.
  5. 5 Eject the Kobo cleanly and wait while it imports the file.

EPUB usually reads better than PDF on small e-ink screens because text can reflow.

Kindle and other readers

Kindle users can send EPUB, HTML, PDF, and similar document formats with Amazon's Send to Kindle tools. Other e-readers usually accept EPUB or PDF over USB, and Calibre is the most dependable bridge when a format needs conversion.

RSS for ongoing reading

Every writer has a feed at /u/handle/feed.xml or /o/handle/feed.xml. Follow the feed in the reader you like, then send individual long posts to your e-reader when you want an offline session.
